The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) sets 10,000 visas aside for people who apply through the immigrant investment program (EB-5). The number of visas set aside for EB-5 is renewed each fiscal year, which begins on the 1^st of October and ends on the 31^st of September.

Though 10,000 visas are set aside for this program, the USCIS does limit the number of people from single countries who can claim an EB-5 visa; only 7% of all EB-5 visas can be issued to people from the same country every fiscal year.
